The Wireframe Exhibition

Our signs were minimal, but mostly for the guest to be able locate certain spaces easily.

Below are photographs of our final exhibition set up.

Our lecturer dropped by a few hours before the opening and gave us a curatorial feedback. The second room (with 3 sets of work) started becoming a supercrit display instead of an exhibition display. Using blutack as well was not helping us. We tried avoiding using pins on the wall but we realised we need push ourselves more and commit in making this exhibition work. We decided to use pins then put a plaster afterwards and paint the walls. Through re-grouping, we manage to reorganise the room to a more fitting exhibition. We decided to lay the table flat, instead of using it as an easel. Then we took out the pin ups on the wall and stacked them together and put them on a plinth. Feedback from our lecturer

As seen in the previous post, we began setting up lunch time 27th of September Below are additional photos for our set up till late night. We struggled a bit organising the second room because it got too crowded having Cay, Angelique and Michael's work. We have thought about leaving my work in the other room by itself because the space and the collection are already working on its own and if we add a different set of work. It will change the whole atmosphere.

Furniture research The space that we are looked into hiring does not provide any furniture therefore we would have to look for our own. Our options include hiring or finding ones we can borrow. The website www.exhibitionhire.co.nz provides a range of furniture with different types of displays structure and furniture such as chairs and tables. Majority of the listed furniture are dark and not quite what we are after and it was also quite expensive. We thought about bringing tables from home but we would want to have same looking furniture to tie the work together as well as avoid adding anything else that would make the space more domestic than it is. We also looked at lights and MacBooks/ipads. Before we locked down the Roxburgh St Art location we looked at other possible options. After seeing a post from another student in the exhibition paper Facebook group I emailed bill.giannakakis@gmail.com to find out more about the space above Glassons. I was not able to get a response therefore we sticked to the Roxburgh. From the images shared on Facebook, I liked how the space was wider even though it is only one room.  Photo from Facebook group  5 Roxburgh St Mount Victoria  The Roxburgh St Art was our initial location that we found more suited to our original concept of Behind the Façade, we decided to stick with this as it meets our price range how close it is and we like that it is not completely similar to a white cube gallery space.
