Poster Process

I started designing posters back when our name was Facade. I started with using eyes as a way to try and express the essence of Facade.



Once we had settled on the name 'Wireframe,' it was time to come up with a series of posters for the advertising part of our exhibition





First we started with a photographic feel to our posters. However we felt this didn't quite capture the essence of our exhibition. We quickly moved onto more vector based posters, and we started looking into a sort of 3-D style poster.







It wasn't until I came up with this abstract and vector based design we decided to go with. It was quite important to us that we had a nice design for our posters because it reflected the aesthetics of our entire exhibition. Our posters had to look tasteful to make people want to check out the exhibition.



I had many different colour schemes for our posters but I settled on a orange and pale turquoise colours. 


This poster was used for many different aspects of our exhibition like the 'Welcome Sign' and our invitations.

Before we locked down the Roxburgh St Art location we looked at other possible options. After seeing a post from another student in the exhibition paper Facebook group I emailed bill.giannakakis@gmail.com to find out more about the space above Glassons. I was not able to get a response therefore we sticked to the Roxburgh. From the images shared on Facebook, I liked how the space was wider even though it is only one room.  Photo from Facebook group  5 Roxburgh St Mount Victoria  The Roxburgh St Art was our initial location that we found more suited to our original concept of Behind the Façade, we decided to stick with this as it meets our price range how close it is and we like that it is not completely similar to a white cube gallery space. Invitations

The private invitations for this event were straight forward but so important to us. As we wanted all our private invitees to attend we got our invites printed on high quality silver card.

Furniture

Furniture research The space that we are looked into hiring does not provide any furniture therefore we would have to look for our own. Our options include hiring or finding ones we can borrow. The website www.exhibitionhire.co.nz provides a range of furniture with different types of displays structure and furniture such as chairs and tables. Majority of the listed furniture are dark and not quite what we are after and it was also quite expensive. We thought about bringing tables from home but we would want to have same looking furniture to tie the work together as well as avoid adding anything else that would make the space more domestic than it is. We also looked at lights and MacBooks/ipads.
